1941 Kay Orchestra Model Upright Bass, $800
Stable and Playable. Cosmetically well used, but nothing horrendous. Missing one ear, but no cracks or anything serious in the body. Has The common Kay neck break, which has been repaired and dowelled, and is stable, and has been for the 12 years I've owned it. Action is set pretty high, needs setup and some work eventually, hence the price.
I have been gigging this bass weekly for some time, and it's been up to the job-- my skills are starting to get to the point where I need to move a step up, and I've found just the thing at a local shop, so looking to sell!
Teac X10R RTR in top condition, no take up reel, $150. I got this along with a bunch of LPs and some hi-fi speakers from an old fella. I don't think I'll ever really get into mixing down to it, although it would be ideal.
Newer Model SWR Workingman's 12 combo. Asking $225. Ext spkr out, DI, great SWR tone for small/med gigs or in the house/studio. Works 100%, gigged 10 times and out to rehearsal about fifteen times. No scratches tears or wear except on the handle, which works fine.
Peavey TNT 130 $180. Rock solid loud and versatile combo with fully parametric mids (!). Never had an issue with it, and cosmetically very good for an '80's amp.
Cerwin Vega D3 speakers. Good condition. Professionally re-surrounded in original orange. DCM KX10 Series two speakers, mint. On craigslist, I had $80 on the Cerwins and $140 on the DCM, but I'll take offers here.
I've also got a bunch of rack amps-- three open chassis four space monsters with point to point wiring and huge transformers that once powered my large high school's PA system and Auditorium PA. Also one 3 space more conventional mono power amp, 120 watts, but I'm sure that's a pretty conservative rating. Working, but so big that they're probably best used for parts or installation projects. $30-40 each, discount for the lot.
Pics here, feel free to browse. http://s206.photobucket.com/albums/bb84/westhavenmusician/
Most of these items are heavy, so I'm thinking pickup or delivery or meet halfway somewhere in the NYC-Boston corridor-ish...
Cheers, Joe
