Since I already have a Karma and I am quite fond of it. The Karma functions seem very much like they will provide a lifetime of inspiration. That being said, were you in this position, would you add a Motif for additional sounds and, would you consider adding a Triton merely being redundant.
For a bit of reference, the rest of my set-up includes a Waldorf Micro Q and an Acces Virus b, an Emu E6400 and a Kawai MP9000. The Kawai does my piano sounds and has about the best keyboard feel of any electronic instrument I have ever played (and I have played and owned quite a few). The others speak for themselves.
The point is this, In my opinion, the weakest part of my system is my string sounds. The Karma has some nice ones, I have some decent samples for the Emu and both the Waldorf and the Virus have decent analogue type string sounds.
So, what, if anything, would a Motif add to the mix and, what other options would grant me better string, horn etc. sounds.
P.S. I guess this question is a bit more involved than I thought.
