k recorded 40 min worth of tracks of my drummers. i used the Fat drums approach worked good. but what do you guys suggest as to how to remove the tinny sound and to induce some Punch to the set and cymbals. i hear people say compression on the drums alot. i have soundforge6 pelase tell me all the things i should do to drum tracks to give it the good metal studio sound.. eq settings anything. if theres a plugin or anythin i should get tell me! thanks guys!

ok well its kinda of hard to say much of anything w/out hearing the tracks, metals a fairly wide catagory, do you have any references to the sound that you want to get close to?

Aquarius II bass head with Iron cobra double bass pedal

Dude, you'll have more luck if you try to get it right before you record. A properly tuned drum kit with the right mics, not necesarily expensive mics either and mic position will go a long way to not needing too much eq or compression. And without hearing the drum sound you have, its hard to give advice on improving the sound.

sorry im not able to go out to the studio and get the sound board. i dont have my car right now.. were going to lay down the guitar tracks basstracks and vocal tracks on sat... even without hearing the recording what are some good effects to give drums a beefy sound? anything i can do in sound forge?
