I entered a contest at Sweetwater and won a Blue Bird mic. Ive never won anything ever before. They called me this morning with the great news. Cant wait to try it out.

2. I'm also glad that you won a microphone and not a stool that said godsmack on it or a flying v guitar case. A practical prize for a recording enthusiast.

Sean called from Sweetwater this morning and my wife answered and took the message. I was like "I didnt win". So I called back and was surprised. I just got the email sent to all contestants and it says Mike from Urbana (me). When my wife said I won a mic I thaught maybe a under $100 mic. I couldnt remember the prize. Im looking foward to trying it out.

Not at all ... Godsmack is really great to put on a stool. But practical application in your recording chain may be difficult. I'd rather have a Godsmack microphone cable than a stool. That's all.
But if they put A Ha on a stool I might think differently.
