Just When We Expected Nothing To Happen...

Well, it's only been a couple of weeks since we released our first cd and things are already starting to happen.... fast!
Our manufacturer, Oasis, just sent us a contract to put our song "Little Pink Drink" on a Country music sampler disc for distribution to Country music radio stations all over the U.S., promotional people, record labels, etc. etc. YIPPIE!!! :)

Four other songs... "Hard Hearted Woman", "Not The Same Me", "Still I'm Amazed", and "Life On The Edge" were played on the internet radio station www.beonair.com and they received lots of positive commentary.
The operations manager, Chris Hunter, just notified us that the response was so good that he's putting those 4 songs into his regular rotation for the next several months!
He's also going to put 2 other songs... "Little Pink Drink" and "Coming Of The Storm" into the rotation on thier Country station, expecting more positive response.
It gets even better... he wants us to do a live on-air interview sometime in the next couple of weeks in Cleveland!
Hey, I know it's far from the bigtime, but we had realistic expactations that we might not sell more than a few cd's and be stuck with 1,000 drink coasters and a HUGE Visa bill.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate all the things I've learned on this BBS from so many experienced, unselfish people. We've even got homerecording.com included in the "thank you's" on our cd. That's meant for ALL of you'se guys.
(Is this starting to sound like an Academy Award speech, or what?) :)
Well, I just wanted to share the good news, that's all.
BTW, I've been told that we'll get alot of airplay on Saturday morning between 9am and 1pm EST. The station is www.beonair.com
We'd appreciate if you guys could give it a listen, if you get a chance. I'll keep you guys up-to-date on the "on-air" interview.
Also, the Slide Show on our website is now up and running... it features some nice pictures and a 3 minute long guitar solo from our song "Complicated Girl".

What do you mean far from big-time? That's great news. I would think this would be the best, most exciting time! Good for you.

The recording quality of our cd would'nt have been nearly as good without all the tips and clues I learned right here on homerecording.com
I'll be sure to mention that when we go to Cleveland for that radio interview. :) It should be in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Damn... I'm nervous and excited, all at the same time!
 
Way to go Buck, it's nice to hear a "nice guy finishes first (for a change) story"! Keep the momentum going!

Hey Buck, I still haven't heard the songs on beonair.com yet..usually to aggravating tring to listen with all the net congestion going on, but i just wanted to let you know that i felt honored that you included me on your c.d, and that you had enough faith in my singing capabilities to let me share a little of your success.

You and Bob are great people to know personally and professionally and i hope the rest of the world gets to find out as well...

I have been spreading the word about the c.d..i think it's catching on like wildfire..it's awsome to the ear to hear
your songs, clap to your beat and sing along..who knows?
Someday they may put one of your songs on a karaoke disc!!

That statement refers to something that has nothing to do with music or recording.
The day after my mom died on June 13th, duke and Recording Engineer stayed up with me in chat until 5 a.m. to help me through a very bad time... and also to help me accept and understand her loss. That's what was meant by "words of wisdom when I needed them".
This place is more than just a message board to me, Krystof.. it's a place where I can go to talk to "friends".
No matter what happens, I'll be hangin' around here for a long, long time. And I won't forget to keep you guys up to date on any accomplishments, as well as the failures. :)
 
Since I been hangin around here, I've picked up some useful tips and heard some great licks - but nothin beats the sound of a good ole-fashioned success story. Best o' luck, Buck.

The Mac Brothers will be LIVE on the internet radio station http://www.beonair.com this Saturday morning, August 19th, from 11am to 1pm Eastern Standard Time.
(click on the Alternative station when you get there)
We'll be performing some of our songs LIVE (unplugged) and there will be a webcam set up for LIVE video during the interview.
You can also e-mail questions or comments to us throughout the interview.
We'd really appreciate it if you guys could make it a point to check out our interview. Sorry that I'm kinda cross-posting on this (first time ever, I swear!) but we're really excited about this great opportunity!
I just hope my voice doesn't go "Peter Brady" on me!
