Read all of my directions and you'll be in the clear.

ribbon mics take as much phantom power as you can get -- their low output problems will decrease and their self noise will disappear as you apply more phantom power...

the larger the diagphram, the more bass response you'll get.

All cardiod mics require you to "run" them for 5 hours before they will give peak performance. You only need to do this on first operation, or if the mics have been in storage for a long time.

tubes are meant to be hot. Do NOT expose them to flowing air, as they could burst at any moment if you do so.

Tubes are also INTEGRAL to the quality of your recording. get as many in your chain as early as possible to make sure your signal never goes far without a tube pushing it.
