Not sure what language you're speaking there arcadeko, but THAMES is pronounced TEMS not TIMS over here in one of the motherland's offshoots, and I'm pretty sure it's that way in England too...
Then again, your country, like most, has lots of glorious inconsistencies in pronounciation.... like Notre Dame = noter dame, instead of not-re darm, it being French and all... and while I understand the general dislike of things French in the US, you do say herb as erb, instead of herb with a hard h like the rest of the world... and that's a French pronounciation if I've ever heard one..
And don't start me on bouy = boo-ee.... ("boy") and tourniquet = torniket... (tornikay)...
