ok, thats it! I`m jealous.. :) Congrat`s. I need to find a deal on some small nearfields to go in this cubicle of mine. I`m having to sit mine at about 6 ft away cause of the size.
How`s the construction going shep? I need to come up and check you out pretty soon man.

yeah, i need some monitors bad...haha.

i'm tired of using my baby advent II stereo speakers for this mixing!

however, i still havnt heard any monitors ever before! maybe i'll roll down to guitar center and check some out. haha.

hey toki,no need to be jealous bro, just come on down and enjoy them with me any ole time you feel like it.
constux on the studio has come a long way since you saw it.
i havent had a lot of time to work on it lately.my side work picks up pretty good this time of year.
very soon i will be ready to put together the dedicated computer we spoke about, and would really appreciate yer help with it.

shackrock, this is the first set of monitors i have owned.i have heard some befor, but never actually got to sit down and check out a bunch of music thru them.
the first music(besides my own)that i listened to on these was jeff becks wired.i have been listening to this recording since i was 14 or 15 years old and thought i new it like the back of my hand!there is some shit on this record that i never heard until today.

hmmm..i find that kinda wierd though.

i mean, nobody else in the world will be listening through monitors like we are when we mix.. so it SEEMS like we SHOULD mix on stereo speakers! but i guess, mix on the monitors, REFERENCE on the stereo speakers is just the best...

alright..good enough for me. anyway, i'll be looking into some. probably those cheapest studiophile things by m-audio.

i dont think that it is impossible to get a good mix on stereo speakers, but i see the studio monitor as a great tool for training my ears.as people that want to be good engineers,(well, some day)we need to hear the things that others do not.
btw,the guy i bought my aw from used m-audio monitors and they sound good to me.

studiophiles sp -5b

that is what i'm looking at...they are the cheapest...haha.
