Hi guys i just moved and cant decide which of these 2 rooms would b best to set up my studio, which i use for mixing not recording. One is a standard bedroom with 2 windows and a large sliding closet door on one of the walls and the other room is a large downstairs irregular shaped room with no door separating it from the floor above, which not sure if thats gonna cause problems. below are diagrams i made showing all dimensions. also gonna put many bass traps in the chosen room. ne advice b much appriciated, thnks

id go with room two - desk centered on the wall to the left. Although it looks like its square, that is supposed to be more difficult for bass frequencies...

thnks for replys, i was leaning towards #2 as id much rather have a closed room but what worried me about that room is that its pretty much a cube, which i read on some acoustics article online is worst kind of room for acoustics? so u guys think the room would be ok with the bass traps?

Yes, you need to build or buy some bass traps and some broadband absorbers. Check out some of Ethan Winers blogs on the net about where to put them. He is also on this forum, so hit him up. He's a wealth of information.
