Yeah yeah yeah, I know!!!

Who buys a Marshall TSL100 head without knowing how to turn the damn thing on even???

Well... Me! :D

Nah, I have played this amp a million times in stores. And I have played all tube amps over at friends' houses. But for some reason I cannot remember what the "Power On/Off ~ Stand-by On/Off" sequence is.

- Should I have the stand-by in the "On" or "Off" position when I switch the power on?

- How Long should I wait after powering up before playing?

- Is it bad to switch the thing on and just start rocking out? Or should I let the tubes "heat up" a little first?

This is a $1,400 head so I want to make sure I don't do something REALLY STUPID!

I got it off eBay for $900 and it is only a year old. I was pleased! Not even a scratch on it!

Thanks for your help on this guys!

Mike

1. put the standby switch in the "on" position

2. Turn power on

3. Let it warm up for at least 5 or 10 minutes

4. put the standby switch in the "off" position.

5. Crank up the volume and play that guitar !

6. When you're done playing put the standby in the "on" position

7. Turn power "off"

1. Plug amp in.
2. Turn amp on.
3. Don't bother to let it warm up, won't matter after next step.
4. Beat that thing to death with a Mesa Boogie.
5. Enjoy the unmatched tone of the Mesa.

:D

It seems to me that the standby switch is suposed to be off when you turn the power on. Then the tubes warm up, then you turn the standby on to play.

Fuck it.

When both are off, turn on the Red one that lights up first. Let the tubes warm up a bit if you want for tone purposes, then turn on the black swich to play.

DO it this way for the reat of your life.

WIth amp POWER in OFF position, make sure it is in STAND BY mode.

TURN ON AMP POWER.

let warm up votage plates for about 5 min.

Then turn OFF the standby mode....and PLAY.

WHEN YOU POWER DOWN - TURN OFF THE POWER SWITCH FIRST!!!!

this drains all the power from the amp and is the safest way to power down.

IF you turn off the standby, your leaving a lot of voltage in the amo plates that can potentiallly KILL you if you open the back to change tubes etc.

ALWAYS turn off the POWER switch FIRST when turning your amp off.

then repeat proces to start back up.

Wait...
...this is a joke thread, right? :p

P.S. ...for real, though...buy a boogie.;)
