This is a song I just finished recording. Just looking for some comments on the recording and or production. I am by no means a piano player, so this was definitely a challenge for me. Im still not entirely sure it fits the right way, but this is what I ended up with.

The vocal should stand out a bit more, but damn!!!!......it's a great song.

Hey thanks! I might try increasing the vox a few db and see what happens... will report back. I know there isn't too much to comment on here as far as a mix goes with only 3 tracks, but any thoughts on the piano especially would be appreciated. It could definitely improved, but as a guitar player, piano is only a secondary thing for me.

This is great Live42, thanks for sharing it. My only thought is that the piano seems a bit weak in parts. May be look at a bit of short reverb to make sure its "in the room". Talking of reverb, a bigger sound overall might be worth exploring. See if you can use the full stereo spectrum... good luck.

very nice song, i thought the guitar sounded a bit harsh.

Tough call on vocal level - I'd probably leave it there.....great song and great voice. It has a very upbeat feel ...

Hey man, great stuff. I think the vocals are just about right. The piano is fine to my ears. This IMO is primarily a guitar & vocal folk number, and the piano just adds some nice backing. It's plenty loud enough for me. The guitar does seem a bit heavy in the upper mid freq's which makes it a bit thin sounding to me, but that's a minor nit. Really good. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that the vocal level is about right...

There's a couple of places where the piano sounds a bit "not quite right" tonally... what is it you're playing there? For the most part it sounds OK, just a couple of times I thought "cheap electronic piano"...

The vocal line from about 3.43 to 3.46 sounds not quite right to me either...

From about 3.50 to 4.00 where the piano comes back in there a couple of the notes / chords sound too quiet compared to the ones around them... you can probably automate a volume increase there if you agree with me...

This is all just nitpicking... nice song!

Beautiful guitar intro. Vocals, however, are just above the guitar and don't punch out as well as they should because of it. Turn the guitar down a touch. That will help bring out the piano too. (It took concentration to understand the words because of the bumping of the two. I listen on fairly good Boss headphones.)
