So about 8 months ago I manned up and took the role of "mixing/recording engineer" in my songwriting/production team. We knew no one that did quality mixes and even if we did we couldn't afford to pay for their services. I literally knew nothing about mixing and had to dive head first into it.

I've literally done nothing but mix beats, remixes, and demo songs for good part of a year. I now have a decent understanding of the subject and I've most def improved. I'm still really far from being good but I wouldn't say that I'm bad.

Most of the stuff I mix is for demo so I never get the chance to let anyone outside of who I'm dealing with hear it. Recently we did a remix for an up and coming artist by the name of Neon Hitch that got officially released.

If you all would be so kind as to give it a listen and let me know what you think it would be really appreciated. You can tear me apart if you feel the need. I don't know how many of you will be into it musically but I'm really just looking for critique on the mix itself.

Sounds good bdam123 - not my style of music but the mix is good. Lots of impressive vocal effects going on. The drums are a little wonky at 2:25 when they change - not really in sync kinda. Then they go back to norm and are okay. Tell the singer she's got a great voice!

I recon it's a bit "try tooo hard" with all the effects... but what would I know?... "tick tock goes the clock".
 
I didn't record the vocals. We were given vocal stems and just asked to remix it.
