Slow Children Playing
There was this interesting tele copy at the guitar center. I think it said "JST" on the headstock. It weighed a ton. I can't find anything on google, so I must have the initials wrong. I am sure it started with a J. Know what I'm talking about?

Could it be JBP?

I've got a JBP strat, or maybe that's the acoustic/electric. Can't remember now.

El cheapo copy. It must've been used, because I don't think they carry them. Come to think of it, though, they generally won't take stuff like that in trade.

The headstock didn't look like a tele exactly. it kinda looked like the jay tursert thing. But the guitar was like $700 used. It weighed a ton. It also had a weird bridge. For intonation, the saddles were bolted to the bridge plate. No screws for length. like a floyd kinda. Put it where it's in tune and then lock it down.

Also on the bottom of the headstock, it had these teethmarks cut into it. Like _/\/\/\_

Ok

You got me.

The interesting thing is, I always thought if I got an unfinished headstock ala Carvin, that I would do one with a sawtooth pattern. 'Course, that's back when I thought I was a badass rocker.

Maybe it was a one-off homemade? It would hafta be pretty high quality for that kind of money, though.

Oh, those teeth marks wouldn't be visible on the profile of the headstock from the stage. They're small. Like maybe 1/2" deep.

It's some local douchebag. JSLGuitars.com / Spotty ebay stuff. I'd be interested in it if it was like $299. $799 for what is probably essentially a partsocaster is not what I choose to spend my hard earned wampum on.

And it was at GC?

your GC must do things different than mine. They don't want stuff like that here, because they can't sell it in 15 minutes.

I did see a used Agile LP copy at Sam Ash for $300 that I know was only $179 new. I got a little chuckle out of that.

OK, but even as a partstcaster, was it good stuff? Was it superior workmanship on the wood, neck, etc?

Maybe one notch above douchebag. His website is not up, but I went to archive.org and looked at his site from 2005. I can't tell if he buys the parts or builds from scratch. It says handmade in the USA.

The guitar was not really to my taste, but i could tell it was nice. It had a really neat green/blueburst thing. It weighed a ton, tho.
