3035. i tried her through quite a few mics, and i was expecting to use the solidtube, but, i basically, shut my eyes, and played the tracks without knowing what mic, and the 3035 sounded the sweetest. i think it was due to her position aswell. got a nicer take with it too.

Do you find it equally acceptable on other sources?
What mics do you have to compare it to that you picked it over?
Hard to beleive, but that track sounds damn good. Do you find that mic to be super hyped like alot of the cheaper mics, or does it seem flatter? Wonder how it would do on overheads?
Sure you're not pulling our leg? ;) You work for AT, dont ya?
Peace.

no, im not pulling your leg!!!

comparisons were from a Solidtube, C3000, and hold your breath, ....a U87. now, you're gonna find this really hard to believe, but i chose the AT on top of them all. the u87 sounded wayyyy too kinda, open for what i wanted, i wanted the vocal to be nice and close and upfront. the solid tube sounded great and so did the c3000, but the at seemed to suit her voice a lot more.

tubedude,

to be entirely honest with you, it's one of those mics which i dont find myself using much, mainly cus of the solid tube, u87, etc. this was the 2nd time i used it. i haven't used it on overheads yet, but i might give it a shot. i usually use 2 u87's or 2 akg c451's on overheads. personally, i dont think i will like it overhead. im as shocked as you are about how well the AT performed!

ive used the AT on acoustic guitar once which sounded really nice. if not the best, it's definitely one of the best mics available in that price range. the thing is fantastic. im one of those producer's who doesn't care how much it costs, but how it sounds.:-)

Totally pro sounding! The singer, the song, everything. I don't normally listen to this kind of stuff, but you two appear to have it down. Great job and good luck!

Romesh,

who's actually doing the songwriting? 'cos it's a fabulous song, watch the backing vocals here and there, they tend to slip forward sometimes. But besides that, it's v.radio friendly, i should know, i'm listening to it on shitty laptop speakers!

Email me when you have 5 minutes.

Dude.....Nice song...Not excatly my style..but good tune.

I lover her voice..nice. I think the vocals were a tad too much in front in a few places. I think the 2 vocals that are spread the farthest apart on the chorus need to come a lil bit closer together..then the chorus would be perfect.

I like the sound of the vocals..The meek serves it well..

Nice tune man...

Broken Window,

if you put headphones on, you may hear why i panned them like that. creates an interesting tone on the backing vocals. sounds the same on monitors, but just wear some headphones and listen.
