Univalve & Avatar Speaks
I came home a couple days ago and walked in on a couple of the kids goofing off in the studio. They were doing kind of a free-style jam to a drum loop. It sounded kinda cool so I set them up and captured it. Doctored it up just a little.

Keep in mind the Bass player is 11 yrs old, the Rhythm Guitar player and the Lead are both 13. It's just for fun. They call the tune "The Jock Jelly Jam"

Damn, not bad! Maybe you could have them teach myhatbroke a little something. :)

Haha, pretty cool. Has a jammy hard rock surf vibe. Tell those kids to keep jamming!

Getting some mileage out of the three chord pentatonic lessons for sure but the name of the tune

Nice bass tone...and some pretty good playing. Tune overall is pretty cool....blows away my playing.... :D

Damn kids have some pretty good chops man...

There's a drum solo opportunity in there. My youngest is down with the crud right now but when he's up to it (I'm sure Christmas morning will do it) he's planning to do a little something. The kid can play. I'll post again if anyone cares to hear it.

No kidding. When I was 13 I couldn't even tune a guitar. these kids have some chops. If they keep at it they'll be virtuosos by the time theyre 20.

I really appreciate the listen and comments everyone. These kids just play for the fun and bang some stuff out. Once in awhile the ears perk up and you think, maybe there's something in that there thang.

Ok, I can't pass all the kind word lest their ego's out grow the room. The drummer is out sick and the guitarist are my students. The bass player...I have no idea. He jumps around like he's at a bug-festival or something.

To be honest, listen to their parts separately and they're not "workin" any chops to speak of. The solo guitar does have a few rudimentary licks but it's just a jam. They do play nicely together though. I'll give them that much.

I'll pass on the kind words. Thank you for the listen.

Man I had to wait until I was 18 to get my hands on an instrument. That was a long time ago & I've not progressed much.
Imagine getting hold of something before 11 and spending the time on it.
Good work by the kids. Let's hope they get to grow a little before they become the next nivarna in pyjamas.

Thanks again for the listen...I have a deal here...before every lesson (no charge to the time) we listen to something...I have a 5 or 10 minute slot before every lesson where we play a little something "different". No one gets away. For the wanna-be rockers...some classicals, for the acoustic kids, some VanHalen. We've got to round out the players. If you listen to what they came up with was some classica rock pentatonic stuff. That's what made me want to post it. These kids can play the usual grunge/thrash stuff but they pulled out a some Johny=be=goode. That makes me happy.

BTW...Merry Christmas! And if that ain't your thang...no insult or harm intended...to you a restful, peaceful time with the family or those you care for and enjoy the last few days of this year.

Peace on to you.
