im running on a new laptop with 1gb ram and amd turion 64 mobile...and the equipment is a firebox and akg cond. mic....Here the problem. When I run Cubase LE and record or even playback I get this stutter on the track sometimes causing it to sorta pause in a way I cant put my finger on what the problem is..But it is impossible to record when it records my take like that. It happens in different spots lets say every 45secs give or take..Different each time. Can anyone help me at all....thanks for any help

I posted this in the cubase forum which is dead at this time but maybe someone around here could help....im torn b/c I have a session soon...Someone suggested it could be my firewire card? is this possible..and im betting its not even replaceable on a notebook.

If you have a lot of Direct X effects it can be slow or a lot of effects on in general. Cubase is a touchy program it freezes occasionaly on my computer but overall is solid with its occational crashes.

THe only explanation has to be your computer something having a conflict with cubase or just cubase being slow.

whats crazy is I ran some other software I own such as cakewalk and adobe and still the same stutter with all 3 apps....could it be drivers or something? I checked hps website for my notebook model #dv8225nr and the latest audio drivers are Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver which I have already for my main sound card...any other ideas
