here's some sweet software for this work (or play! :p )
and it has a 10day free trial too.
much much more functions available. very nice imo.

http://www.soundtechnology.com/download-center.htm

the scales,0 to -100 amplitude/spl/logarithmic/20log...or 0 up to 100db?
.. i'm not sure that matters, i mean it does...but its all been calculated out for us mortals. the formulas were way over my head.
the sky is blue, we accept that phrase...deci alexander grahm bell=decibel and Bodes nodes...whew!
Freq vs DB...no matter how its plotted.

1) Get out the SPL, set the Pink Noise volume, until reading 66db to 85db.
2) RTA on the pink noise and let the software do its thing. Concentrate on the 500 to 2000freqs. first..~ vocals...but the speakers should go further out.
3) Final check with the ears.

this pic was an interesting "final product" piece. Mastered waves from MP3.

well, some more tests done.
mainly with the sub and the 500hz down.
played around with the Side Mini Traps, Ethans DIY chopped in 2!
...and it was pretty wild, or in other words the portable side 2x2 traps had a noticeable effect per the chart.

The sub was on and brought up a few freq.s to 60hzapprox. within -6db.
any lower freqs were -10 to -20db. steep rolloff. Before was 100 sharp drop off.

i don't know if it's correct pulling in the side panels so much but per th chart it helped and it still sounded very balanced when done. and the MONO check was still a frkn 3d...whoooshhh to the center.

small tweeks can make a big change, makes you want to bolt them down or Velcro or something??
