I've got a vintage Fender Bassman amp, that I play my electric guitars through. If I get a j-station, I think I'd be better off using it only for its effects, and micing the amp with say a sm57, rather than going direct and using the amp models+effects.

Actually my question is, "is it possible to bypass the amp model and use only the effects?"

Some may say I am better off only getting a multi effects unit instead, but I will probably want to use the other amp models, plus the bass models and the spdif out.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Yep, you can bypass the amp or the speaker cab or both on the J-Station......you may even like the sound of the J-Stations amp models and speaker models run thru your Bassman mic'ed with the 57.....

one of the updated patched for the J-Station is the sm57 so if you do getone, let us know how close you think it comes to the real thing.....

They won't fix the brain. Believe me, I've tried and tried...

I thought you were talking about the Antares Microphone Modeler.

I like the new v2 J-Station models, but for some reason I like the bass models for guitar and vice-versa a lot of the time. I was just doinking around with the newest version of J-Edit just now. What a neat program!

Hey, speaking of running your guitar through your computer, has anyone tried ReValver yet?
