IUMA down???

whats up with IUMA? they dont respond to e-mails, the site stats have been down what seems like forever... does anyone know whats going on?
 
IUMA was bought out by Vitaminic long ago, when EMusic dropped IUMA's funding.

IUMA is basically un-manned aside from one or two people who are payed to keep the artists as happy as possible before they force them to join Vitaminic, or dispose of IUMA all together.

Simply put IUMA sold out long ago, it's future is very largely uncertain, but they will go where the money flows.

And that's coming from someone who has no stake in where you put your music whatsoever.

What is your problem Waldo? It's true that you have a stake in where people put their music, and I was just pointing that out. If you want people to take your word as gospel, and not as biased towards nowhereradio.com, then maybe you should give up the gig and become a preacher.

I never have asked you any favors, and I never plan to. Why would I? Don't overestimate your own importance; on this forum you're just like anyone else.
 
Charger, read Waldo's first post again. He said facts, never mentioned his product, didnt spam.
 
And then read my first post.

Not only is it true, but it's the same thing I would say if Mr. Hyatt posted in the mic forum slamming someone else's mic, even if he never mentioned his product.

It doesn't matter if Waldo mentions his product--it's just as good for his business if he can slam a competitor, since a post like that--which appears to be totally factual, and from an "insider"--will stick in people's memories.
 
My problem is I don't got not F'in 'Stake', unless you wanna consider my volunteer efforts and donation of money and time to find a better way than the 'corporate' jackasses out the a 'stake'.

I'm in the fricken poor house because I've dedicated nearly everything I have to helping out indies, and so you know what I do is not 'just an internet site', I've been running sound, making videos, running publicity stunts, organizing tours, recording bands, etc. for FREE for 3 years now. I don't charge dick, everything I do get (whatever little it is) is voluntary.

Sure I get thanks every now and then, but once in a while I get some malicious schlum who comes out of the woodwork and tells me I'm trying to get rich off of this. That would be the stick up my ass.

I do it because I love music. If you are going to do it to maximize your stake, or make sure nobody else gets a 'cut', then get the hell out of my face.
 
Alan Hyatt makes $$$ when he spams here....Waldo, as he says, doesnt charge dick.....lets see if Mr Hyatt will give you a mic.....

I really wish Waldo would start charging a bit of $$$...i know his cause is noble, but in order to further it, im sure MANY people will boot up a few $$$ for a reasonable alternative to MP3.com...Waldo is a good guy and we should all help root for the "little guy".....
 
hey, all i asked was what was the deal with IUMA and why are the site stats down.
he answered my question and that was the reason for the post.
I dont care who answered it, as long as the information given was correct.
Actually, im glad Waldo answered because he probably has the correct information. I know Waldo runs "nowhereradio", and i post my MP3's on that site. I also post my MP3's on IUMA, hence the question.
anyhow, if someone is "slamming" someone or something, i still will make my own decision as to what i would do or where i would post my tunes. truthfully, i prefer the way IUMAs' page looks and thats why i post there. IUMA also has site stats, (that arent working....)
Anyhow, i dont think i ever thanked Waldo for having such a site and for keeping his site FREE.
So, Waldo, i thank you very much for your response to my question and for running a site where i can post my MP3's for free.
As for Chargers' response to Waldos' post, i took it to be humorous and got a quick laugh out of it.
What i dont understand is, why would someone start an argument with someone that is doing you a favor?
that is kind of like- asking someone to bring you a glass of iced tea because you are sweaty and thirsty and rather then saying thank you as they walk away, you kick them in the ass.

I thought Waldo did charge money for his site, and I was incorrect in thinking that... I remembered him mentioning that that was a a change he might make.

Sorry folks, I made a joke, and then I thought his comment not to ask him for any favors was extremely rude, so I responded in kind. Now you all hate me. That's what I get for trying to make a joke on such a serious forum. It was better when I was on vacation! Maybe I'll take another break...

It's simply 'assumptions' that make nothing but an Ass out of You and Me. My post was factual, yours was not, this is what upset me.

People here know I'm a hot-head when it comes to what I love and people trying to take it down a notch, I do jump off my rocker once in a while to smack faces. Fact is, I went pretty easy on you compared to usual, it didn't get me as upset as it may have in the past.

Alls good, just remember to do your research before you comment.

as i stated in my last post, both waldos and chargers comments i thought were meant to be humorous. the problem is you cant hear peoples voice tones on these forums.
and dont worry, i dont hate you charger. i dont hate anyone.
