It appears I am recording, but clearly nothing is being recorded.

I've picked up an M-Audio profire 2626, Pro Tools M-Powered 8, and four mics (beta 52a, sm57, pair of samson c02's). I have everything set up and turned on and whatnot, but i can't figure out how to actually record. :(

I create 4 tracks in PT, record enable them, then hit record and play on the transport window and it looks as if it is recording but it is certainly not. Anyone know what the hell I am doing wrong?

Did you select the Profire as the input/output ASIO device in Pro Tools?

I liked your latest song... not my style of music but really nice job mixxing it wow. What mic did you record your vocals with?

Edit: P.S. sorry not trying to derail the thread

I haven't seen an option for that, but, under setup---> I/O---> input/output/insert tabs all recognize the profire, as in, the profire name is shown with an m-audio sign and there is a grid-like list with the input numbers on the left and the numbers 1-26 going horizontally with the letters L and R going down from top left to bottom right of the grid.

What do you mean "looks" as if it were recording? Are the meters moving while your recording? Visual wave but no playback?

Did you set the channel input on the selected track?

Once I hit record and play on the transport window, the tracks go red, as if it were recording a silent room. The meters don't move. The 4 tracks I made in PT are each assigned to inputs 1-4 of the profire, which is where I have the mics plugged.
