Awesome mix and performance. Very cool acoustic guitar sounds. I'm in complete shame... How the hell...? This is just a really really good mix. Great guitar solos and tone...

I don't know what else to say. Never heard of the original, but sounds a lot like some Dire Straits stuff.

Never heard the original but this one is nice. Maybe I have heard it. The only thing I don't like on this one is the verb on the vox seems a bit much.

Awesome for an hour and a half....liars.

Great, strong acc. guitars.

Oh yes! Excellent! Your's is the first 1.5 that I have seen that is over 3 minutes long.

This ELP cover is beautiful in its simplicity. Don't fret about the keys, man, they sound great!

You've done a great song complete justice in under 1.5 hours! :)

Whoah, I've read all your posts, and tried to listen to everything you say because it seems as though you know what your talking about, but I think this is the first time I've actually listened to one of your mixes... I'm not going to comment on the 1.5 one but "Back At You" is fricken silly man. You said I looked like satan, well in parts of that tune you sound like satan. No wonder you can nail a mix like that... you obviously sold your soul...

This isnt my type of music, but I might even burn this one and listen to it in my car..

I'm really diggin that song..

But now I'm listing to Sluice and he just makes me want to curl up into a corner and gouge at my eyes so I dont have to contend with the demons anymore.

Ya know... methinks R.E.M. ripped off this song, eh? Know what one I'm talkin' bout? "Radio Free Europe" or something...

Perfect recording... you have great vocal pipes brah. Now how do we get your fellow 40-something "mixmkr" to step up to the mic?

Excellent harmonics... hearing some almost "sitary" stuff now... guess it's in the synth... jeez... you even had time to pan that back & forth... guess I should stick to playin CDs... lol.

Very nice. Your song sits nicely on top the pile, here.

Damn this reminds me of how old i'm getting:( . Hey pal, you did great! And i'm not about to upload my 1.5 anytime soon:D

pretty nice for an hour recording... I dig that solo sound.

I've actually never heard this one and don't know who ELP is.. but that's ok... I prolly wasn't even alive when the original came oat. :p

Cool... :) you captured the "stuff" which is the hard part, the frilly shit is ear candy anyways. I'd hate to be told "you got 1.5 hrs or your fired", I'd probly just throw up in my shirt pocket....

I forgot to stick this in...(that sounds sensually dumb, hehe)

Worthy my ass!!

I'd be honored to stand back in the shadows on my rug and play behind you on a tune like that!

great job

if you don't mind me asking what did you do the vocals with. they sound great!!!!!

Hey Tracky - At the risk of sounding like a freakin' groupie or something, I've actually spun this quite a few times in the past 24hours, and I honestly can't see what you were bitching about. I mean, the keys???? Who cares?? I don't. LMAO. The deal is you NAILED the guit work...I'm thinking you've played this tune live a time or 2, eh?

Anyway, the reason I'm posting is to ask if you recorded this and/or mixed it in CoolEdit. I hope so...it gives me hope.

bater litch,
chris

nice percussion, guitars are a little heavy on the lows, but i'm probably just imagining things, definitely great for 1.5 hours... i would say the reverb is a little overpowering on the lead, but it lends to the creepy surreal feel behind everything, so i would say it works well... keys aren't bad... be proud man... better by far than anyhing i could've done...

Nice cover song!!!
Its a classic .. I love it

you did a awsome job covering it!

beautiful :)

Commrades, I'm humbled. You guys are way to forgiving. I hear the key clams, swimming all over the place and it feels like a root canal. I thank you just the same.
Analytical Man, that's a Octava MC-319/Envoice MindPrint to tape (tape?) with some compression at mix time.
Chris, you are correct sir, I've played this 2 or 3 million times in my life. This one never saw the inside of a DAW though, just the HD24.:D
The young pups here that haven't heard the original Emerson, Lake and Palmer version are making me feel OLD.

I love this song! Used to play it myself! The sounds are great, mix is great, performance is great. Whole thing, actually. I love the sound of that acoustic. What IS that acoustic guitar, Mike? Its bright, but real defined--I like that.

This is way past worthy. Great effort!
