I have a little more than $100--potentially. I don't want to spend a lot though because I am simply experimenting--I'm not quitting my day job. I basically want to see if I can come up with anything that will, in the future, warrant me spending substantial sums of money on good (even adequate) recording equipment. I want to record vocals over guitar with the possibility of adding drums and maybe some bass. I think I will be very satisfied with a cassette four-track. Do any of those have built-in microphones? Do I have to buy a mic? Plus, can I just plug my guitar into the 4-track or does it have a mic to pick that up? Plus, how do drums get recorded?
