is this the right programme for me

Im a complete new comer to this sort of thing and was wanting to know if ableton live light would be a suitable programme for someone with no previous experience. im just wanting to record gat and bass and vocals. also wanting to make my own electronic music such as dnb and some drum tracks?

yes...but you might want to give Reaper a look at if you are going mainly record guitars etc

Ableton will do everything you need but i would call it simple or a beginners tool, you will need to dedicate some time getting to know it...and its more expensive...even the basic entry level version cost a third more than reaper


best thing to do is download the demos, Reaper gives you a permenantly uncrippled version while Ableton gives you 30 days to try it out
