hello guys.
A friend gave me a Sony mic. It is biten by his dog, but overall it seems to be in good shape, althought the plug was removed from the cable by the dog.

It was a three prong plug, and the mic has a swith in it. I guess it was to remote control a Sony recording machine.

It's a stereo mic. The cable has three leads inside, I guess one for each channel and one for the remote switch.

I plugged it and it makes a lot of noise, I guess cause it's not grounded. The cable has 'rope' in it to make it flexible, which is a mess.

Do you think it's worth repairing?
I attach a crappy picture I took from it.

Cheers, Andrés

I guess it's one of those stereo electret microphones. A new one doesn't cost that much (around 50$), and is bound to be a lot better (this one looks pretty old). Besides, there isn't much use for such a mic, except for conference recordings and such. If you can fix it by yourself, or find someone who'll do it for free, go ahead. If not, don't bother.
