I really digged the intro, however the vocal's composition and performance was a bit of a let down

I appreciate that it started pretty quietly since I left my volume WAY up last night. 
The piano sounds good.
I don't know that your vocal tone is a good match for it though. You've kind of got that nasal, teen angst sound vs. the smooth, mellow piano sound.
They drums are completely buried; they might as well not be there if they're that quiet.
The song overall is good, but it's probably a solid 3 minutes longer than it needs to be.
