Is this mix OK?

Sounds nice, a bit strange in the lows though. The whole mix sounds a little boomy, and too 'full'. I feel like you'll have to bring the acoustic guit a little up, but I also feel like the mix can't handle that.
The vox are a little harsh to me.
That bass needs to be clearer, less 'bassy'.

To be short; it has to be a bit more separated, in eq (especially the lows) and in panning (didn't notice a lot of that).

But hey, the song is great (a bit Simon and Garfunkel in vocal-lines) and the mix is certainly one I wouldn't be able to create.

I think I need a new bass. I keep getting the same comment about the muddiness of my mixes and I have a real problem making the bass sit distinctly in the mix without booming. I have a crappy old bass and that might be why.

Cut some of the lowest frequencies (around 25Hz and under) of the bass (just a little shelf, not too much!). Fat chance it opens up the mix.

Mix runs a little hot at times. Could it be the drums?

Crispy vocal sound. Tad too crispy even. You might go for the Crawdad sound here: cut some of the highs.

It sounds a little lifeless (if I may say that), but I think that's the tempo. I would personally play it tiny bit faster.

Guitar sounds a little detuned. Or are my ears screwed?

Decent vibe to the tune. I liked the guitar sound, but I may be in the minority on that - not sure.

I notice some clipping here and there. I think it's because there's a lot of low frequencies present.

The vocals are sitting a little too far out front I think. They're quite dry too. I think a nice Medium Room reverb might work well on this tune.

At the very end you can hear you setting the guitar down. Might want to edit that out.

My thoughts. Trip.

Agreed on the vox and hot drums. Not sure about the guitar. It could be the chorus effect that makes it sounds out of tune. It sounds ok to me, but thats not saying much.

I said 'fat chance'....but I mean 'big chance'! Means the opposite right?

Your "Dutchness" is showing. :D:D:D

Yes, it means the opposite.

I love the song. I can't add much crititique to what's been said, except to agree that the low end needs a little help. Bass is a bitch, especially when you (like me - and you, it seems) don't have a great instrument. I've found it sometimes helps to go against conventional wisdom and really hack off that low end. I go up to 100 hz at times, and depending on the performance, the tune, etc. it can help un-muddy things up.

Or it can make it *really* suck.

Uh, glad to help...:)
