I'm particularly interested how the synthesized sounding guitars I added halfway in the second chorus works. It might be too crowded there. What do you guys think? Thanks. You have helped me out alot in the past. The song is Legion.
Legion

Am I all confused or do you really have to register to the site to download the tune?

I didn't realize that you had to sign up. I'll post it somwhere else tomorrow (when I have high speed) and let you know. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the interest.

I'm listening.........I just clicked Legion in the player and it started playing.

I don't think that synth part really adds anything to the song. I don't dislike it being there but I would'nt miss it either. :D I know that does'nt help.

I like the song and you have some cool stuff going on in the song. I think a couple of the solo instrument parts could use some developing to be up to snuff with the rest of the song. Otherwise they're just filler and not really adding anything to the song, imo.

I like the guitar stuff at 3:05 and think it really adds something to the song.

Overall the mix sounds good here.

I like the song.

I don't like the tone of the guitars.

Little too much distortion/fuzz for my taste but they're alright.

Vocals sound good and fit the song well. I'd bring them up just a bit though.

At about 1:10 the echo'd (synth?) doesn't fit well, maybe working on the timing and it would sound better. At about 1:20 it seems to fit better though. It's also too loud compared to the vocals.

I like when the song picks up 1:33.

The synth at around 2:00 sounds okay to me.

Overall it's a good song, I like how it keeps changing. But I'd work on the guitar tone and maybe the other few things I mentioned.

If that synthy part doesn't add, it needs to be gone. I like the melody mimicking the verse gtar and the possibility of ear candy, but I can agree that it might not deliver. Thrown in on a whim and easily removed. Thanks for your fresh ears here. Mine are getting deliriously giddy.

Brave experiment but nah, the synthy part does nothing for the track.
I'm a bit bemused by how clear & poppy the chorus vocal is compared to the verse.
Not a bad thing but
either the verse should be lifted a little to give it some clarity or visa versa.

Yeah, there's a big contrast between the verse and chorus. I'm kinda liking that right now.Can definitely see your point there though. thanks.

same here. i like the chorus and with some minor changes (just eq and levels i reckon) it can become a superbe mix. the verse indeed needs a lot of work. also the song is too long imo.

what i did was start playing the song on 01.35 and that made it a lot more alright.

enjoyed the git/synth solo.

in the whole i hear some dinosaur jr. echo's (???) me like a lot!!! :D :D

i also like 'bookstore' a lot btw!

The verse vocals are very j mascic influenced. i suppose that's what you mean. Thanks.

To me the drums are slightly bright, but that might just be that it's an mp3. I like the synth. The vocals need to come up I think. I also like the guitar sounds apart from the little solo at the start - that sounds amateur to me. Good song though! Bit weezer innit!

I made some changes. I don't think I hit on everything mentioned, but I've been burning this as the "final" mix. Good enough? Thanks.
Here's the link again:
Legion, etc.
