Is there an acoustic guitar/mic pre-amp that I could use going into a power amp (mosvalve) and then into a 12" cab, that would yield a very good acoustic guitar sound?
Reason is, I have a nice rack set up for an electric using the mosvalve, and thought I might be able to kill 2 birds with one stone!?!

Does any one know of any such acoustic/mic pre that would give nice results? (Oh yeah, my cab has a 12" celestion 25 watt- would that work?)

Thanks for your replies,

I havent used any of them but most of the guitar amp mfgs have them. There are even acoustic pre's with mic modeling built in. I think it might be Yamaha that makes that.

I think that you're not going to get the results you're hoping for.

Electric guitar amps and speakers are designed to specifically target certain frequencies (mostly mids) which probably wouldn't be what you're looking for out of your acoustic.

Will it work? Yes.

Is it going to be a great acoustic sound? Probably not, but try it and if it sounds good to you, then it is good.
