Is this a nice synth to buy?

The microkorg is a good instrument and enjoyed flavor of the month status when it first came out.

Now it seems that the Alesis Micron has usurped it's position as the best little cheapie out there.

Personally, I would recommend a synth module and a good controller or controllers.

Wow, what timing. My band just bought a microKORG, and we love it. It's got some of the classic '80's synth sounds, and you can adjust parameters on the fly. Plus the vocoder is too much fun. I give it a thumbs up.

Apart fron the mini keys, I like it (I have big fingers though). And IMO the microphone is not all that good, but there is a provision for using another microphone. The Vocoder is the forte of this synth.

Ok thanks alot, How bout that equiptment i bought was that a good choice for a beginner? thanks

Yeah, those are decent pieces for a beginner, although you'd probably be better served by a Yamaha MG series mixer than the Behringer. But you should get some decent sounds with that gear. The MAudio card is a good investment.

Wat about monitors to buy for it they cant be to pricey either like 200 maybe 300 at the most thanks hit me back up

I had a MicroKorg and sold it to get an Alesis Micron. The vocoder on the MicroKorg is far superior to the Micron's. But the Micron is in another league in almost every other area -- playability (large keys), rythyms, patterns, 500 sounds.
