Is there any way to impedance match 4ohm speakers with 6+ohm amplifier?

My apologies for the low-grade humor. But this Forum is generally a notch above the Newbies Forum in terms of the pre-requisite knowledge of the participants.

And, all joking aside, I gave the originator of this thread some decent advice right from the start. This guy paid US$3.50 for his amp (I'm still looking for more hankies, since I read that sad story of not being able to repay the kindness of the seller) and he's worried about it melting down when he gets real monitors. That sounds like misplaced anxiety to me. And I said so. However, monitoring above 100dB is a REAL cause for concern, both in the short and long term.

that 's why statements like:

How about placing a 2 ohm resistor in series with the positive speaker lead to protect your shitty amp?

need correcting.

So if I told you to dip your CDs in Tung Oil and then wipe them softly in a counter-clockwise motion with the editorial section of the WSJ to get a more silken feel to the mids, you'd consider it?

I've got a green felt-tip marker I'll sell you CHEAP!
