Is there any free sequencing software out there? Sorry if this is an old question

Hi. I'm looking for a free sequencing program if there is one.

I'm not looking to use it as a permanent program, just as a intermediate program until I build my pro tools daw, and get digi 003/PTLE.

I'm jonsing not being able to sequence & record since my Cubase 3.7, 10 yr old 98se p3 500mhz, 512mb ram daw just crashed on me a week ago.

+1 to reaper. Non-expiring shareware. If you use it past 30 days, they ask you to register for a measly $50.

It's quite a program, especially for the price.

Another great option is REAPER at http://www.cockos.com/reaper/ (It's $50 but runs for free until you get guilty enough to pay for it...)
I use Reaper and highly reccomend it...

And you can go out to any Barnes&Noble or Borders and pick up "Computer Music" magazine - they have a full FREE studio suite in every issue's DVD, including sequencers, plugins and tons of audio samples. (November 2006 they gave away a full copy of SamplitudeV8SE worth $150, November 2007-on the racks Dec in the US- they gave away SamplitudeV9SE. It pays to watch 'em for giveaways...)
