Is sound forge any good?

I have SoundForge5 and like it a lot. Pretty powerful and easy to learn and use. If you get it, pick up the noise reduction plugs too. Very cool.

Hey rats,
sound forge 6.0 is now availlable. I downloaded the demo but havent installed it yet. It looks like it uses some of the features in Vegas 3.0 offers including cd burning.

looks like you get Vegas 3.0 LE with it.

I have vegas 3.0 and sound forge 5.0 and use them as my main multi tracker and editors with no complaints.

I like the Graphic Interface in SF better than anything I've seen.

And Sound Forge 6.0 (demo) seems to render stuff a lot faster than the the version I own which is XP 4.5.

Sound Forge is a great prog. I never really liked the stock effects though. I think the newer 5.0, 6.0 comes with their better stuff, like acoustic mirror et. all -

I liked Wavelab's effects better, but like my experience with most Steinberg stuff, it was a bit buggy at times.

I love Soundforge 5.0, especially since it only cost me $99 when I upgraded from XP--which I got for free (rebates) in the first place.

I'm using SF 5.0, love it. Also comes with a nice pack of DX plug-ins.
