Is My PreSonus Firepod screwed?

Hello All

Well I come home tonight, flick on the power button to my Firepod only to have it immediatly turn blue. Meaning its sync'd. So i try and play soem tunes nothing coming out. Check the sound hardware through windows, and it doesnt show my firepod. So i turn it off and turn back on, same thing. SO i try to switch the firewire port on the firepod, same thing. Switch the port on my computer, same thing. And here's the kicker...........take out the firewire cable completely, just the power is plugged in....STILL BLUE LIGHT!!!!!!!!! no firewire cable and yet its still sync'd, very very pissed off right now. Almost threw it at my wall. Any advice? Anyone have any past experience with PreSonus technical support? If so how long did it take them to get you answers?

Their tech support is pretty fast, and was pretty helpful. Not great, but decent. Give it a shot... maybe it's just something simple.

Sounds like you might need to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
 
i dont think it is a driver issue if the blue sunc light is on without the firewire cable even plugged it. I have the power plugged in and i turn it on and its showign that it is sync'd......without a firewire cable being plugged in
 
If i recall correctly, if you upgraded your fimware, the blue led will turn on if you use the firepod as an stand alone unit (no firewire cable)... Give it a try... use it as an stand alone unit, then uninstall drivers, install drivers again, and see what happens...
