Now, I understand the whole "bump" concept, but why are you bumping all these threads?

Just cat-holing the crap...burying the BS posts we've all grown to groan over.

Massive --

Is your website working?

I've tried on 5 different occasions over the course of 2.5 months and it never loads -- as if I've typed the wrong address (even though I'm following your link).

His link and site are working. Try right clicking, copy, paste in your address bar, hit enter. Maybe its something with your browser.

The JohnScrip.com site loads fine for me.

Massive's site will take a while with a 56K connection. I'm not sure about four minutes, but it's been a few years since I've had a dialup/modem connection.

56k modems

I tkink as a rule its still worth writing a site which loads in reasoable time on a 56k connection. Here in the UK still only the (growing) minority have broadband and those that don't will soon give up on a site if it takes forever to load.

One tip which works for me is never to include pictures/grafix greater than say 20k at most. It should be possible to edit pics to reduce the size and quality for a quick download.

Some of the flash based sites take time to load even with broadband!!

I'm assuming that the server is having a hard day...

The Flash intro is ony 27K (I made sure to use vectors ONLY to keep it nice & small).

The whole page tops at around 45K.

However, one problem is one too many. So, I will investigate and correct if necessary.

John,

You and your websites have been a great help to me

thanks again

Not sure if you changed anything, but the jonscrip site is loaded. Took less than 10 seconds on my dial-up.
