I purchased a Marshall AVT 150 combo and was wondering if it's possible to connect a 412 cabinet to it. I know that Marshall has a 112 extension cab that is made for the AVT line, but I would like to try a 412 or 212 cab I have and I don't want to fry anything trying to find out. The internal speaker is 8 Ohms, and the amp requires a load equal to or greater than 4 Ohms.

Um.....I really dont know, so I thought I would respond since no one else did. I would say plug it in and try it and if it works woohoo :D and if it dosent aww :( but, it might fry it, so who knows. i know i dont, im just a simple bass player.

If the 4x12 is rated at 4 ohms or greater then I'd say go for it.

You basically want to match loads. If your amp wants to see 4 ohms, then make sure the cab is 4 ohms. If you do not match loads, you could damage the power amp section of you amplifier.
