No. Not in the true sense of what I believe you're desiring.

"The DP-01 is equipped with a MIDI OUT jack. This can be used to drive a sequencer, drum machine, etc., either synchronized to a time base, or a MIDI clock. MIDI OUT is also used to drive a MIDI instrument as a metronome". (DP-01 Manual)

There is no MIDI IN jack to accept external clocking for synchronization.

Of course, you may "link" them in the sense of mixing your entire 8 tracks into stereo, and recording it down to 2 tracks on the 2nd DP01 using the stereo Line Outs hooked to the other DP's inputs. I'm afraid that's probably not quite what you had in mind.

thank, oh well....thats how I thought it might have to be done. So the RCA out outs to the line inputs on the front, right? but why would it have to use 2 tracks?

You don't have to, but honestly...

this 2-Porta solution external bounce operation would be only slightly different than the internal bounce operation, i.e., (8-to-2) vs (6-to-2).

You can bounce to 1 or 2 tracks, but using 2 tracks preserves your stereo image.

so, you can mix 8 from one, to 2 to the other and still have 6 open. in essence making a 14 trak recording? Rather then 12 just useing one recorder?
thanks for your help, I new to the home recording world.

If you want to approach it that way, that's doable.
