is it my soundcard or cubase??

when turned on, my maudio firewire 410 will work through my monitor speakers when i play itunes/windows media player/everything else...but it switches back to my default speakers when i boot up cubase!!! WHY??

Have you tried looking at the audio/drivers settings?

Look in your devices menu...VST connections..select ASIO FW ..... should fix it.
