Probably, but if your computer doesn't have a port now I'm not sure the overall computer specs would be up to it. You can get PCI card based Firewire ports. They're fairly inexpensive, so you could get one and try it out and return it if it didn't work.

Just go to a computer/electronic store and buy a FireWire PCI card. they cot around 20 buxx or so.

If you have a notebook, you can get a FireWire card for your PCMCIA slot.
