In truth, you actually don't need a cable of any sort. Just use one of those hand held tape recorders with the little mic built in.![]()

Is there any other way I might be able to get around it? I was thinking maybe I could send the sound to my mixer using telepathy. Or maybe I could jerry-rig something using twine ?

LOL!!! The problem is when you try to go take a leak. It really intruduces a lot of static into the line. I think the amonia doesn't play well with the XLR connectors.
