Is 5:05 too long for an up beat modern country song?

I would have to agree that a typical time frame for todays (and even traditional) country music is well below the 5 min mark. Even though there are exceptions to the rules, I would think it's gonna have to be something that floors people if it's coming from someone who hasn't established himself yet. I've been playing in my friend's country band for over a year now and one of the things I've noticed in the modern covers we do, is the half verse during the second go around to jump back into the chorus, the get in and get out solo and it's all rehashed pop southern classic rock. Without hearing your song there's not a lot of advice to give. If the hook is what gets stuck in peoples head, someone earlier suggested leave them wanting more. Make them hit the rewind button a few times.
