IRC is Internet Relay Chat, and it allows everyone to talk in real time all over the world. We have a pro audio discussion group that meets every Saturday and we have people from England, Norway, Germany, and Belgium all joining in the discussions. I have transcripts of our previous chats at:

You can download the IRC software from: http://phreakazoyd.simplenet.com/ install it, then run mIRC when you're online. Pick a newnet server near you, and click the "Connect" button to get on newnet. Once you're on, simply type:
/join #Recording_Studio .
and that's it. This chat has been going on for about 4 years now.
I'm always on a half hour early to help new people, and I can email you (almost real time) or you can call me (or I'll call you) and we'll walk thru it (that's what I did with Fletcher). It starts around noon, New York time and runs for about 2 hours most Saturdays.
You can just hang out and listen, or join in, and you can come and go as ya please. Usually there's no delay between what you type, and the responses, or at worst, a few seconds. Most of the regulars from RAP are there (Mike Rivers, Scott Dorsey, Dan Kennedy, etc.) It would be really nice to see you there.
