Hey, glad to be here. You all look like you have so much to share.

I got lost already. I am hoping to find my way around this forum.

I haven't been home recording but was hoping someone could talk to me about schools or programs that will train me to record. I just want something quick and that doesnt' cost a lot. I am a doer but in doing I also need someone to follow. With that said, does anyone have any great ideas? Or is there a room for this type question and I missed it? Great.

There are several private "schools" that offer courses in recording (Full Sail, Musicians institute, etc) and many public universities/colleges offer courses as well. Most are farly expensive and certainly are not "quick" - something like learning home to record does not come quick - it requires a lot of time and either a financial committment to school or a financial committment to purchase gear.

For a couple of thousand dollars you could buy some basic gear, and a commitment of time to read this site - or - any of a few dozen other sites - or - any of the dozens of books/nagazines avaiable in libraries or book stores...and perhaps you could start to learn some basics.

But - if you think you can learn recording in a cheap, quick way.....your underestimating how complex it can be.

Forget the schools - they're okay for working in a nice studio, but won't help as much as if you bought some modest gear, started experimenting and getting input from forums (forae?) such as this one.
