Hi - I'm going by the name Nubsy, it's the name I gave a guitar a long time ago and that I use occasionally for recording projects. I started recording on a Tascam Porta One back in 1988, moved to a Roland 880-ex in '99, and am now on a Roland 2480. I'm here to learn and hopefully offer up some help, if possible. Thanks for letting me in!

Welcome Nubsy. Just be careful how you use the word "amazing" and you'll be fine.

Welcome!

(Zero--too verbose? :D)

Thanks for the greetings, people. I'll buy the beer and soda, but you have to bring your own Slim Jims. Sorry.

Vs-2480

Hey man, if you aren't already over there, check out www.vsplanet.net for all things VS. I started out on a VS-2400 coupled with an SI-24. I have since moved on to a computer based DAW, but I still have a VS-2480 myself as well.

Thanks, Wes. I'm not registered over there, but I will be now. Funny, I had seen that site years ago and forgot all about it. Thanks again.

There's a guy on there, Frank Griffith, who has a pretty handy guide he's written for the VS-2480. He hands it out for free if you run into him. Between him and Lakestone Karl, you can pretty much have every VS question you can come up with answered!

C'mon - I feel left out. What's a Slim Jim?
Welcome...

... and that's why you're welcome.
How about a nice cup of tea? Too much softdrink (soda) is bad for my old teeth & the beer - hmm, that was a different place & time.
OH, & I have a Roland Disclab so I don't know if that makes me seem old school, teething edge or pathetic.

LMAO
Everybody loves a slim jim.

Everybody loves a slim jim.

Yep. Everybody does. And we may not have sigs, but we do have "Custom User Titles." You've inspired me to update mine. (Had to tweak it to get the character count down.)

Ah, MEAT STICK!
We don't really have anything that approaches it - Jerky was around for a little while, cabanosi etc. but not in the handy pack.
I guess it's just something we missed out on - we got Gumby, Coke, Maccas and Cheerios but not the meat stick.

Oh, you're missing out. They're softer and much greasier than jerky. With jerky (in spite of the sodium) you get the feeling your at least getting a clean shot of protein. But with Slim Jims--pure greasy junk food.

Mmm mmm good...
