Nice sound Dog...

Still working on my silly setup over here, but if you get something together and need any vocals, I would be happy to participate. Let me know if you need me.

Rock on ~

Thanks, guys...working on the drums right now...they aren't working for me.
Gunnar, it's a single guitar right now...a mixture of my crappy amp mic'd, and a direct from the POD. My amp never has any bottom end, so I am using the POD for the bottom, and the mic for the mid and upper.
Thanks again guys. And Gals..... :D

Ahhhh, that is what I am hearing then. I thought it was two mics on one cab, but the DI/Mic combo is what I was hearing.

Well, not being a drummer, I spent all day trying to come up with some drums. Here's waht i have for a main rhythm, after the intro. I aslo need to figure out how to transition from the intro to the verse....right now it's just a 4 count on kick. I'd like to build it up differently, but don't know exactly what might sound good. Any ideas?

Intro + Verse

Any ideas?

Maybe some fills with toms.

This is sounding pretty cool. I am a RUSH fan, so I want Neil Peart or his imaginary friend Billy :D The pattern you have is fine but would be a tad much for a whole song, a few fills would make it sound like a real Joe pounding the skins.

BTW, I just installed i-tunes because my geek CD is gonna be on there. How do I get rid of it? I dont want to use it as my default player, I use dbpoweramp. Any ideas??

Yup, you got a nice foundation going on here.

Thanks David. To select another player, usuall I do the right click, find open with, and select teh player I want, then check the always use this type box. I have I-tunes, and only use it for AAC. You might have to set the preferences in I-tunes to not reclaim itself as the primary player. That I don't remember.
Thanks again man...

Sounding good. I'm not sure on what to do with the kick drum intro to the verse i don't really think it sounds bad.

One idea i had that i can't tell if it would work without actually hearing it. Just something id try if i was messing with this not really a suggestion just in my head it sounds cool. I was thinking after the verse riff goes through 4 times maybe hearing a drum change. Not sure what you use for drums but if it was like a 16 step sequencer.. like snares on 5 and 13..open high hats on like 1-5-9-13.. kick drums filling in with the riff. Itd give it that head nod type of industrial feel for sure i think. Again im not trying to say anything about what you got going on i always just hear stuff in my head when listening back and thought id share out loud for once.

Sounding great though man, sounds like its going to be killer when its done.

Take care

Thanks man. Right now, that is just an idea for the verse. I need to get a chorus section together, and transition all of this. I'm looking at a buildup from the intro, into the verse, instead of the kick. Or, just maybe more drums involved, besides the kick?
I had all these nify ideas, and they haven't really panned out as I expected....imagine that.... :D

I use DFHS for drums, and some of these were replaced with some samples from Farview. I just really don't know much about drums, so everything I try and do seems to be from another song, then I try and modify it.

Right now it's simple, open B-D-E.....anythoughts on what might sound kinda good as a chorus pattern? I've tried to move way up, and it sounds pretty bad, at least what I have played. Also tried to stay really close, and move a progression from F-E-D-B#.....but it seemed kind of corny also.

Thanks man, and any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey Dog...Just heard this. Heavy riff and great tone. I don't know if I'm crazy about the amount of reverb coming out the other side, but with the whole band playing, it could fill up well, especially a 3 piece band. Reminds me of Eddie's sound.

I know you already got offered some drums for this, but if you still need some, let me know. I'm a little behind on a few things I want to do, but by this week end, if you still need drums, I should be able to do some.

Thanks man....I need to figure out a chorus section, then it might need some drums. Thanks for the offer. And the verb is a bit much. It was just sitting in the FX output, and I didn't adjust it properly. The drums needed a little, but I think they got about twice as much as I had anticipated..... Damn...I need to learn how to work my stuff. So many knobs, so few fingers.... :D

Thanks again man.

Hmmmm. I record entire symphonies BY MYSELF, yet I couldnt figure this out. Why? It's simple...

I'm an idiot :D

Thanks Ed, worked fine.

My brother is in programming business but I'm sure he didn't know how to change default player or disable and kill some advertisements on his PC.
Never mind.
What is so interesting and special about your poweramp player DavidK?
I did not try that one!

Love those drums bulls! I'm another waiting to see how this one bangs out.
