I listened to the clips also, however, I can say that real audio does not do justice for music. So much gets lost in the digital audio compression of Real Audio.
As far as the internship, you need to ask yourself if you know whats going on with the business. Even though you are scraping paint, does the owner of the studio allow you to know whats going on all other times? Does he ever talk about what your future will be with their company? Do you ever ask him about the future of the company?
If the owner has a vision and he is including you in it, then by all means, keep scraping. Another thing that you can do as a means to increase your worth is to get to know the neighbors and the neighborhood. Find out all of the good places to get something to eat, and where the hardware store is, and the closest newsstand, and when public transportation comes through the neighborhood. As you become closer to the community, you become the "go-to" guy so if the owner ever has an issue you know how to have it resolved.
Also, after you got done scraping paint for the day, take a moment to drop by the studio afterwards to see what's going on. Personally I have had interns doing slave labor for me that is not in the job description, however, their loyalty had developed a level of trust. So when they would spend all day doing my bidding for me and then they would come by the office at the end of the day to check in and hang out for a little while sometimes they would end up being in the right place at the right time that caused them to get promoted.
I am in the property management business and one of my interns was able to land a good job with my company simply because he was around when we needed him. One of the other guys called out sick and I needed someone to answer the phone. Sure enough, my intern was there and the rest is history.
His loyalty on the other crappy jobs I gave him caused me to entrust him enough to answer my phone.
