Interface/studio question

pcmcia is not so much of a port as it is a slot in the side of the case. There might be a little flap covering it, but it will push out of the way if you press it. They are usually on either the right or left side of computer. If it's not there, then you could have a problem.
 
if you search the forums or go the computer sound card forum then you will find lots of information on the firepod/firestudio.
 
I never owned one, but I've heard nothing but good things about Firepods, and Presonus in general. If I was in the market for an interface I'd definately get either Presonus or MOTU. Good stuff...
