Interface cuts in/out with external HD

I have my Lacie D2 external HD daisy chained with my profire 2626. This is the first time i have put this setup together. It seems as soon as the external hard drive is put into use the profire cuts out immediately. I have been looking around and everyone says its doesnt make a difference which order you daisy chain them in. Any help is greatly appreciated guys.

FW800 to drive then FW400 from drive tp profire

i got it fixed. it seems to be happier going with the hard drive running second in the daisy chain.

except the HD or anything after the profire will now only run at FW400 data transfer rate,

If you only have FW400 on puter then your not limiting your HD speed by flipping them around.
