I personally have no tolerance for this sort of thing. I even got pissed off at a buyer who bought a tape deck from me years back and was re-using my photos. He had a bag of excuses and actually turned it around as if it was may fault. Why can't people just say "the photos are not mine", at the very least? It's about being honest and decent. Yours are even more "up for grabs", Jeff, 'cause there's really nothing like it on the net. I would send 'em an invoice like Tim did. Classic! :D

It wouldn't be right for me to send him an invoice as those pictures are not my legal property. So it would be just as wrong for me to profit from them as it is for the Craig's List seller to profit from using them to help him make money.

And even if they were mine to profit from, I wouldn't want them used for misleading advertisements in Craig's list ads. They were created to be works of art that people might want to display on their computer screens for non commercial usage.

If any commercial use for them could be realized, it would be for things like posters or for use in books or informational/educational articles ...that sort of thing. Using them to flog used wares on the web really cheapens what they were made for.

Cheers! :)

I was going to add that you should NOT count on Craigslist for anything. I had a problem some time ago and sent three emails with no response. The forth I thanked them for not bothering to get back to me and I would use other means to sell my stuff.
