I'm glad I stumbled upon homerecording.com

I googled "What is the best distortion pedal?" and the first hit was a posting from this site...very cool.

Anyway, I'm looking at the Boss DT2 Metal, it appears to be about the most intense.

Welcome to the board:)

Not sure of your question, but if you want to know what might be better than the boss DT2. I would post the question in the guitar forum and describe the type of music you are wanting to use it for. Maybe give some examples.

Good luck. There's lots of good guys in that forum, just remenber to be specific with your questions around here. Best distortion petal for... grunge, blues, that zack wylde sound, etc.
