I have an interesting question, I have totally disregaurded |Windows| as a whole, I'm running Gentoo, and Ubuntu, and I was curious, if there is any actual "linux" compatible programs that are anything related or somewhat like "Fruity Loops" or "Reason 3.0"... I have yet to find any, but if anybody else has any idea's, let me know.. Thanks...

p.s. don't mention to just switch back to windows... because I won't.. :) (Personal Reasons)

Don't want to use a MAC?

I would if I had an Intel Processor, but I hate Intel, and I won't purchase a Mac computer and AMD Athlon's don't have the right stuff in them to run OSX, so I went with linux, which I LOVE... :)

That it does... That it does... But, if I were not stubborn, what fun would that be? :)

Did you get canned by Bill?

Haha, no, I have two Legal XP CD's and CDKeys, I just don't like Windows, Virus's and all, and well, I just got tired of the same ol' same ol' so I went to something different, and I'm loving it... Gentoo is very interesting, takes a bit of knowledge to run though...

:)

Welp, to quote myself, I guess I'm going to use one of those XP Cd's.. Because just as it so happens to be, Linux & WIFI don't really cope too well on a laptop with a ipw2200 wireless card, so I'm switching back to Windows, and I'll be able to start workin' on some projects again, hopefully I can get somethin' that my friend Luke will like.. (Luke = Classified) from Canada.. w00t.. heh'.. I don't know him personally but a buddy of mine is like his best friend, so I have a connection there, only issue is I suck too damn bad :P... anyways, thanks for the advice and help along the way, I will post if I create anything listener worthy..

If it is virus's that you are worried about just dump internet explorer and KEEP WINDOWS. Instead of INTERNET EXPLORER(which i agree sucks) download and use FIREFOX BROWSER. ITS FREE!!!!!!!!!! You just click on the icon(like you would internet explorer) and away you go. Also it is highly rated among us computer nerds :D as being very safe. My computer guy(the man that taught me to build computers) has used it for a LOOOONG time with no problems.

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

firefox is rated as the best browser you can use(if you dont have a mac) by many PC mag's. Active x is the part of internet explorer that lets virus get in. It is used to run movie clips etc. FIREFOX will run 99% of websites. the other 1% require internet explorer. If you realy want to view that site and you know its clean you can keep the internet explorer on your computer as an icon and get to it thru that.

TOO MUCH KNOWLEDGE for me. I would rather run a system that runs itself. I like to save my brain for recording knowledge instead. :D

The only thing i had to changed after getting firefox was the toolbar. I use favorites alot. It does not come strait from the download with it. You can change that by going to:
view
toolbars
customize
a page will pop up allowing you to drag icons from that page to your toolbar to add it(or other icons that you need). I will never go back to INTERNET EXPLODER...... or as i like to call it "the virus magnet".

Oh and thanks for jazz(never heard of it) johnnymegabyte! I will add to your rep

EDIT:
......I will add later it says i have given too much rep in the last 24hrs sooo .... I will add it monday :D

I'm running DeMuDi (RC1.3.0) and it completely kicks my old DAW's (XPpro & SONAR 2XL) butt... inexpensive ($0) and a heck of a lot more stable and lower maintenance... no tweaking, etc... heck I didn't even need to install anything (except for video stuff)

For midi I use Rosegarden... audio is Ardour... mastering is JAMin ... sequencing is Hydrogen... and to get them all to talk to each other is JACK.

Eh'.. It's not too hard, but, I have decided to put Windows (D'oh!) back on my Laptop, so I can get to recording again, But, yes, I am a Computer geek, so I do know all about Firefox & Thunderbird, and Opera, and Flock, and all those wonderful browsers, I choose Flock out of all of them, http://www.flock.com iirc, great browser, fast, and reliable... check it out, if ye' trust me! :P.. But, anywho, I must get to goin'..
